Privacy policy

Methodly checkout rules (“Methodly”, “the app”, “we”) is a Shopify app operated by Trackwise Studio. This policy explains what data the app processes when a merchant installs it on their Shopify store, and the choices merchants have.

What we collect

When you install the app, we store:

• Your shop’s myshopify.com domain and an API access token issued by Shopify, used solely to operate the app.
• The checkout rules you create (rule names, conditions and actions). This is merchant-authored configuration, not customer data.
• Your subscription plan status, managed through Shopify’s Billing API. We never see or store payment card details.

What we do not collect

We do not store your customers’ personal information. Rule evaluation (cart totals, addresses, customer tags) happens inside Shopify Functions, which run entirely on Shopify’s infrastructure — that data never reaches our servers. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or sell data to anyone.

Privacy compliance webhooks

The app subscribes to Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Because we hold no customer data, data requests have nothing to return; when a shop is redacted, all stored shop data (rules, settings, sessions) is permanently deleted.

Data retention & deletion

When you uninstall the app, your access token becomes invalid immediately and stored shop data is deleted following Shopify’s redaction schedule. You can also request immediate deletion by emailing us.

Where data lives

App data is hosted on Railway (cloud infrastructure) in encrypted databases. Access is restricted to the app itself.
